Internships, Master’s dissertation and Guidance programme
Guidance programme
Internships
Internships should be completed by Master’s degree students who choose a professional profile. It is a 12 credit course which aims to enable them to apply and complement the knowledge acquired during their education, favouring the acquisition of skills that prepares them for professional activities, facilitates employability and fosters their entrepreneurial abilities.
It can be carried out through: (1) A supervised training placement in a collaborating entity of no more than three months’ duration (300 hours), or (2) the completion of a supervised project based on information provided by a collaborating entity. In this case, students who are working and wish to carry out the internship in their company must focus their training project on contents that are different from those established in their contractual relationship. In other words, the training project must differ from the usual content of their work, as well as from the end-of-degree dissertation
The internship’s supervision will be carried out by two tutors: The company’s tutor, appointed by the company with which the agreement is signed, and the academic tutor, appointed by the master degree’s coordinator.
The internship will begin approximately in the month February, although from the Vice-Deanship of Internships, at the request of the company, may bring forward or delay this training project.

Profile of the teaching staff tutoring the work placements and assignment criteria
The assignment of teaching staff tutoring the work placements is regulated by the framework regulation UCA/CG08/2012 and the Internal Regulations of the Faculty of CCEE and Business Studies.
The assignment of tutors is done by selecting the lecturer whose teaching or research profile best matches the profile of the student’s internship (training project of the internship), or one with a broad knowledge of the company due to extensive experience tutoring internships in the company.
Once the list of offers, students and tutors are validated by the Department Management, the final assignment of internships and tutors is published to the students through the Master’s website and the Virtual Campus of the internship subject.
